History

In 1961 the Company has been established with its plant located in Noceto, in the site where the founders family owned a previous food processing factory.

In the first years, a joint venture was set-up between Verwerkaf and Kaffe Veredelungs Werk of Hamburg. The first production processes executed the decaffeination of coffee by means of static soxhlet extractors.

1970 / 1980

In the 70s, the Company started the production of decaffeinated coffee bags for cafes on behalf of third parties. The decaffeination was processed through rotating soxhlet extractors operating with methylene chloride.
Thanks to the production of decaffeinated coffee bags for cafes, Verwerkaf gains numerous customers nationally within the coffee industry. The development is sustained by new equipment and production lines, with a significant increase of the decaffeinated products.

1990 / 2000

The decaffeination by soxhlet extractors operating with methylene chloride is interrumpted, while the Company launches the production of decaffeinated tea. Moreover, in these years, Verwerkaf dramatically increases the production of normal roasted coffee blends, extending the capacity into new packaging formats.

2000 / 2010

Verwerkaf is further widens, and enlarges the plant, and tripling the storage area.
The company is now able to produce and package capsules for instant beverages with ginseng, berries, barley, etc.

today

In recent years Verwerkaf has invested in new production lines, increasing its production capacity to meet growing market demand.

It also launched new coffee plants producing capsules compatible with various leading brands on the market.
